The 4th Annual Grand Prix Akoya Pearl Jewellery 2021 is now open for registration. In 2020, thanks to everyone’s support, we successfully organized exhibitions in both Ise Shima Japan and Singapore under the restrictions of COVID-19. What an amazing success!
Some of the original reasoning behind why we started this competition – we were struck by how many people outside of Japan have visited Japan many times, but practically no one knew of Ise Shima, the origin of the cultured pearl industry and one of the most popular tourist destinations among the Japanese people. We wanted to share the beauty of Akoya pearls and Ise Shima Japan with the world.
At Pearl FALCO, we continue to evaluate pearls one pearl at a time with our own eyes. Akoya pearls are born in nature – their brightness and luster cannot be evaluated by computer or AI.
Akoya pearl cultivation requires a unique combination of conditions to thrive – sequestered inlets of calm and clean seawater in a natural environment, cared for and protected by farmers’ daily diligence over the span of several years. As we like to explain, the amount of time and care that goes into the harvesting of each genuine pearl you will see in our galleries – from shell fragment to cultivated pearl, each pearl has been touched by hand at least 3000 times.

Each of our lives is like a pearl necklace, made up of different moments. Each moment or memory, shines as bright as a pearl with different luster and color. We help to connect pearls together until it becomes a necklace, like memories in our lives.
