THE PEARL LEGACY EXPERIENCE

A Pearl Documentary Screening & Live Storytelling Journey

From watching to seeing, feeling, and rethinking value

A 51-minute documentary followed by a live storytelling experience
by Maiko Makito

Not Just a Film. An Experience.

The Pearl Legacy Experience is more than a documentary.

It is a journey into nature, people, craftsmanship, and the unseen value behind pearls.

Through film and live storytelling, audiences are invited not only to watch — but to connect, reflect, and rethink how value is truly created.

The Film

Filmed across Japan, Indonesia, and China, The Pearl Legacy reveals the world behind pearls:

  • Nature and human craftsmanship
  • The lives of pearl farmers and their communities
  • Environmental challenges and sustainability
  • The deeper question of how value is truly created

This is not a film that gives answers.

It invites the audience to observe, reflect, and feel.

About Maiko Makito

Maiko Makito is the Co-owner and Managing Director of Pearl FALCO, a pearl jewelry company originating from Ise-Shima — the birthplace of cultured pearls.

Based in Singapore for over 20 years, she leads the family business internationally, connecting audiences to the stories, craftsmanship, and natural beauty behind pearls.

After a corporate career at NEC, she took over Pearl FALCO in 2016 and expanded its presence across Southeast Asia while redefining the brand as a platform for education and cultural storytelling.

Through The Pearl Legacy Project, she shares the untold realities of pearl cultivation — from environmental challenges to human devotion behind each creation — with a mission to help people understand the true value of pearls through direct experience.

Her work bridges nature, culture, and perspective, inviting audiences not only to appreciate pearls, but to rethink what value truly means.
