One of our customers introduced Pearl FALCO in the Chinese Shopping Page – Xiao Hong Shu小红书 and many young Chinese people have been recently visiting our Pearl FALCO Singapore Gallery for shopping. We didn’t know about this article until they showed it to us, and we were able to translate it here below from Chinese to English. We greatly appreciate the author’s support, expressing our sincerest gratitude. Please enjoy her article below!

Ise Shima Akoya Pearl Pearl Falco Singapore Branch

First of All : I am not a purchasing agent…. Young women send me private messages when I buy things. The store address is shown below.

Ise Shima Japan is well known as the origin of cultured pearl cultivation in the world. Likely best known by the international brand MIKIMOTO, but there is more than one, Pearl FALCO being among the larger concerns.

Photos don’t illustrate a true representation of the beauty of pearls. Only the human eye can fully appreciate the intrinsic luster and glow of pearls. In fact, the human eye is actually rather excellent at being able to tell the difference between a good and bad pearl.

In the past, I could only buy Akoya pearls in Japan. I recently discovered Pearl FALCO, a luxury pearl jewelry company from Ise Shima Japan that recently opened a Singapore Gallery, just behind Clarke Quay, in the old shophouse area full of Japanese materials, there is an out of the way showroom with displays full of pearl jewelry.

Ms Maiko Makito, daughter and co-owner of Pearl FALCO, moved to Singapore more than a decade ago for her job assignment. Maiko now runs the family business in Japan and opened a gallery in Singapore in 2019. Because the gallery just recently opened and the location is relatively sequestered, it would be best to send a text message to Ms Makito to tell her when you would like to visit.

Ms Makito graduated from Keio University in Tokyo, Japan. She originally worked in Singapore with NEC Corporation. Ms Makito speaks excellent English and is very knowledgeable. Ms Makito showed me a wide selection of pearls and chatted with me for a long time.

Ms Makito explained how several small companies in Japan are facing challenging times, as some have no heirs and do not want to be acquired because they are afraid that their brand will be compromised. Their only choice is to close their doors quietly.

The worst part is how many of these businesses are extremely well-run businesses. Far more common than many may realize, is how many companies that make good products in the countryside of Japan need to close due to local depopulation coupled with lack of local employment opportunities. I admire Ms Makito for giving up her stable job at NEC for the family business.

While chatting, I finally chose a bracelet and a pair of earrings.

The earrings are very similar to Akoya pearls. I didn’t want to buy this style because my pierced holes are not well positioned, but I tried them on and found that there was no problem at all. The bracelet is Baby Akoya. Although Baby Akoyas are considered “small,” their growth cycle is the same as that of the larger pearls, while the implanted nucleus is relatively small. Baby Akoyas are more sophisticated than larger pearls, but my wrists are thinner than average, which is more suitable for me personally.

For a family run business, the overall price was much more reasonable than that of the big name stores, plus Pearl FALCO was offering a 10% discount through Sunday, so I was excited about the purchase. While there were a number of modern designs in the store at very reasonable prices, there were also a large selection of higher-end pearl jewelry designs on display. This time there is no budget. Next time the bonus comes, I will be ready!
