Japan Creative Centre (JCC) & Our Tampines Hub

Pearl FALCO is proud to present our latest collaboration with the Embassy of Japan in Singapore, Japan Creative Centre (JCC), displaying a total of 64 pearl jewellery designs of students from over 10 different countries. Including designs from local Singaporean students from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), Raffles College of Higher Education and Jewellery Design and Management International School (JDMIS).

About The Grand Prix of Akoya Pearl Jewellery 2023

The competition, now running for its 6th edition since 2018, was conceptualised by Makito Maiko, the managing director and co-owner of Pearl FALCO, with the aim to share the beauty of Akoya Pearls with the world.

This year’s theme is “Earth”, with hopes of bringing the world together, transcending the barriers of borders, and inspire designs that symbolise the unity and harmony as one.
With the current Global Warming situations, the delicate Akoya Oysters has been hit hard, and over 80% of them had succumbed to the climate changes. Resulting in a devastating drop in Akoya pearl production. Making the already difficult to produce pearls even more challenging to harvest.

We hope that through this year’s theme, we could help promote sustainability, and preserve the beauty of Akoya Pearls.
