Popspoken:Culture for Asia Today introduces CEO of Pearl FALCO – Maiko Makito. We are honored to have Popspoken share our story, mission and aspirations.

“Meet a Jewellery Designer Motivated by Passion and Pearls”

Maiko describes how, “Living in a metropolis like Singapore that celebrates unity and culture, one cannot help but grow an attachment to this great city. Ever since I was a globetrotting college student, I have loved traveling throughout Asia and noted how Singapore is so centrally located in Asia like nowhere else.”

“Pearls are not typically as widely appreciated as other gemstones like diamonds, so there is a relatively smaller number of people who appreciate pearls. Every piece of luxury pearl jewelry has a story, as the designs often constitute heirloom gifts of love. The thought that Pearl FALCO contributes to keeping multi-generational memories and traditions alive is personally very rewarding,” explains Maiko.

“I am motivated by my passion for my culture and the beauty of pearls that I wish to share with the world so I find inspiration in many things embedded in nature. ‘Nature’ is a classic theme that provides comfort and inspiration. My pieces intervene with a modern twist on a classical design concept.

Many people think nature is everlasting and evergreen. I am personally convinced that the root of happiness lies in people and their interpersonal connections, and pearls help enhance the beauty in people in a very natural and timeless manner. It thrills me that I can serve as a bridge to facilitate these connections, and that is reflected in each & every Pearl FALCO Jewelry Design.”
