I was honored to be invited as a guest speaker at Zonta Club of Singapore, an inspiring community of women committed to empowerment and meaningful impact.

During the session, I shared the deeper story of pearls—not simply as jewelry, but as living gems shaped by nature, time, and human devotion.

Coming from Ise Shima, the birthplace of cultured pearls, I have learned that true pearl value cannot be defined by certificates alone. With no global grading standard, the most important factor – luster can only be understood through human eyes. This is why I believe it is essential for each person to learn how to see and appreciate pearls truly.

I also spoke about the current challenges facing the industry, including the significant decline in Akoya pearl production due to environmental changes. These realities remind us that pearls are deeply connected to the health of our oceans.

Through the Pearl Legacy Project, my mission is to share these untold stories—connecting pearls with nature, people, and future generations.

It was a meaningful opportunity to connect with like-minded women who value purpose, sustainability, and legacy.

Thank you, Zonta Singapore, for this inspiring platform.
